Denied Disability Claim FAQs
You’re not alone. Most people are denied the first time they apply. Here’s what to expect next—and how we can help.
Why was my SSDI or SSI claim denied?
The SSA may say there’s insufficient medical evidence, that you’re not “disabled enough,” or that your work history doesn’t qualify. We review your letter and fill in the gaps they pointed out—or missed entirely.
How long do I have to appeal a denial?
You have 60 days from the date on your denial notice. The sooner you act, the better. We take fast action to keep your appeal moving and preserve your timeline.
Do I need a lawyer to appeal my claim?
It’s not required—but it makes a big difference. We know what the SSA looks for, how to organize your evidence, and how to present your case clearly. Our help could mean the difference between approval and another delay.
What happens if my appeal is also denied?
There are multiple appeal levels: reconsideration, hearing, Appeals Council, and federal court. We guide you through each step and don’t give up when benefits are on the line.
Can I submit new information during my appeal?
Yes—and you should. If you’ve seen new doctors, had additional treatment, or developed worsening symptoms, we help gather and submit that information as part of your appeal.
Still Have a Question?
You don’t have to face a denial alone. We’ve helped many clients turn their “no” into a “yes.” Let’s talk.
