Approval Takes Time—But You Shouldn’t Lose Out

We Help You Recover the Benefits You’ve Missed

If your claim was approved after months—or even years—you may be entitled to back pay. We help calculate what you’re owed and ensure you receive the full amount of retroactive benefits.

Not Just Approval—Full Recovery

We Help You Understand & Secure Back Pay

The SSA doesn’t always make back pay easy to understand—or correct. We review your case timeline, ensure your onset date is accurate, and push back if payment is delayed or short.

Disability Back Pay FAQs

If you’ve waited for approval, you may be owed more than future checks. Here’s what you need to know about SSDI and SSI back pay.

  • What is disability back pay?

It’s the money you would’ve received had your claim been approved earlier. The SSA calculates it based on your “established onset date” and the time between that date and your claim approval. We help ensure it's done correctly.

  • How far back will my benefits go?

For SSDI, you may receive up to 12 months of retroactive benefits before your application date, plus additional back pay from the date you applied to when you were approved. SSI has different rules. We’ll explain what applies to you.

  • How is back pay paid out?

SSDI back pay usually comes as a lump sum. SSI back pay may be paid in up to three installments depending on the amount. We monitor your case and follow up if anything seems delayed or incorrect.

  • What affects my back pay amount?

Delays in filing, incorrect onset dates, or early appeals can impact how much you receive. We review your full case history to ensure no benefit has been missed.

  • What if my back pay amount seems wrong?

Don’t just accept it—we can help. If something doesn’t add up, we challenge the SSA’s calculations and advocate for a corrected payment.
